HELLO, DEVOTED seeker of online hilarity. We'd like to share some exciting news with those of you who are not subscribers to Banter, our e-mail newsletter. As Banter readers already know, we have shifted our online publication schedule from daily to bi-weekly (approximately) so that we can devote more time to our work in other media.

We realize that many of you have come to rely on ModernHumorist.com for a daily guffaw, or, barring that, a daily excuse to waste six minutes. To you, the notion of new humor about every two weeks does not seem "exciting," it seems "a scenario too terrifying for the human mind to contemplate." Not to put words in your mouth.

But this change is, in fact, exciting because it allows us to focus on book, television, film, radio and stage projects showcasing Modern Humorist's talented contributors. Our third book "One Nation, Extra Cheese," based on the "Foreigner's Guide to America" series, will be in stores this fall. We'll tell you more about that as the release date approaches. We are also happy to report that a film we pitched called "Maggie" has been optioned by New Line Cinema, and early indications are that it will be produced under New Line's recently-announced family film banner.

Alas, attempts to release our charming Punchie video as a "family film" have been much less successful.

As always, our e-mail newsletter is the best way to keep up with new Modern Humorist material, wherever it appears. Banter is also where you'll find our famous Scrolling Bonus, "Your Reward for Reading All the Way to the Bottom." And sometimes we raffle stuff.
